TechCrunch40 Conference
I spent today at the TechCrunch40 conference. We had thought about entering Animoto into the “best of show” competition but one of the rules is that you must announce the launch of your product at the conference. We simply couldn’t wait another month to launch Animoto publicly so the timing just didn’t work out for us. Too bad, because I think we could have won the award! Twenty companies presented today and twenty more will present tomorrow. It seemed that today’s audience favorite was a company called musicshake which allows users to create their own music online - kind of like a web2.0 version of Apple’s Garageband. Pretty cool stuff. I’d love to see our users create their own song on musicshake and then upload that song as their Animoto video soundtrack.
Here’s an Animoto video of today’s TechCrunch40 action: http://animoto.com/play/eb2fb57fa6d05f7d4bb1ada92518ef3f
Thanks to Jeremy Pepper for sharing his flickr photos from the event with me (his blog is http://pop-pr.blogspot.com/ ).
Oh, and some folks have been asking about viewing Animoto videos in full-screen. No problem! Just click on the little full-screen icon to the left of the Animoto volume control. It’ll open a new browser instance for you with a slightly different URL: http://animoto.com/play/fullscreen/eb2fb57fa6d05f7d4bb1ada92518ef3f

very interesting !
please, Change the background color or the font color because it’s impossible to read. ( other alternative is to increase the distance between text lines !) excuse me about the suggestions—
Great initiative !
just one question, is the download video option coming soon? I would really like to know, if you have idea, of course.
I think your project is so great, I’m really enjoying it, but would love to know if in the future I’ll be able to save this in a DVD format. Do you have any plans for that or a timeframe?
Thanks for a great product!
I second the above comment. I LOVE WHAT I’M SEEING HERE. It looks very interesting and it blows away the crap I make of my daughter….which I thought was OK until now! I would love to be able to download a DVD resolution version. Of course, I would also love a high-def version….but my house isn’t plugged into an OC3, so that will have to wait for a while.
Are you guys spending all your time hanging out at cool conferences instead of heads-down trying to get the download and/or DVD features working? I’m enjoying my movies and can’t wait to share them with my clients!
We take all feedback very seriously and it literally dictates our product roadmap and prioritization. I’m not at liberty to announce anything formally today but I will say that by the end of October we plan to release a feature that will probably reduce the amount of inbound feedback/suggestions we receive by half. Be on the lookout for it!
