From The Guys at Animoto

An apology is in order to all users who attempted to use Animoto during the 5 hour window yesterday when our site was essentially inoperable. It wasn’t you, it was us (and no, we’re not breaking up with you .

Actually, to be more specific, the problem was due to an error at Amazon Web Services. Since our site is built on Amazon’s system, a major problem at Amazon = a major problem at Animoto.

Rest assured though, we’re building more and more parts of our system to handle Amazon failures more gracefully (think pirouettes & other ballet moves), but we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
