From The Guys at Animoto

Well, we just went through another crazy surge on Facebook recently surpassing the 2 million user mark. One million of those new users installed the Animoto app within four days! At its peak, we had about 8,000 processors up and running on AWS rendering over 750 videos a minute! Pretty freakin’ insane. (Our previous spike, which we thought would never be topped, required about 5,000 processors.)

If you haven’t noticed, Facebook just launched a new redesign of their user profile pages. We’re not sure how we feel about this yet, but we’re working hard to make sure that the Animoto app still works with the new layout. And we have our own redesign efforts in the works, so stay tuned.
