The new & improved video player page
As previously mentioned, we’re undergoing a massive overhaul of our entire site to introduce a bunch of improvements and also lay the groundwork for exciting stuff to come.
Our latest release features a newly re-designed video player page. Improvements include:
— A cleaner more minimal look that showcases videos at 1.5x their previous size
— Load times that are 50-85% faster, depending on your user type
— Visual HTML emails that include cover images for your shared videos
— Editable video titles and descriptions
— Expandable video toolbox for common features and downloads
— Sexier comments using user avatars (profile pics)
— Better sharing, including one-click sharing to Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter
— Better embedding, including a customizable embedded player size

Like the new look but question this: “A cleaner more minimal look that showcases videos at 1.5x their previous size.” Yes, they’re bigger, but they’re just sized up – not actually rendered at that size and hence look a bit blurry compared to what they were. I know there’s always the upgrade to DVD quality, but, if you’re going to show the videos bigger, they should be rendered at that size, not just scaled.
I would like to be able to use html code in the video description.. at least or so I can format my description.

I’m both a full length (or whatever it’s called) member, and a business account holder (for my company).
And I gotta say- Animoto – you rock the house. I enjoy this upgrade a lot.
You’ve already bought me as a lifelong customer so keep these upgrades coming. Just don’t disappoint and I’ll keep sending money your way through personal revenue and business referrals.
Two things I’d like to see the most in future upgrades.
*Having some sort of control over the transition effects. Really important, even if it’s just a little bit of control it would save me tons of time tweaking the output the way that I want. Think about it, instead of us users hitting the remix button again and again trying to get what we want (and costing you bandwidth) we would be able to save time and save you bandwidth and cash.
*** Lightroom/Aperture integration or Downloadable seperate program? This would probably be a bit against your business model but hot damn I would pay the price of 2 business accounts if it was polished product.
